HEALTH AND DENTAL INSURANCE
Yohn Co & Wright Materials offers a group health and dental insurance program to all full-time employees the first month after completing 60 days full-time employment. Full-time employees who continue coverage during the winter lay-off months will be eligible for immediate coverage upon return to work in the spring and will not have to satisfy the 60 days waiting period upon return to work.
Full-time is considered any employee that averages 30 hours per week and is available for the entire working season (March 15 thru December 15, nine months out of the year).
If an employee is out on Family Medical Leave, the employee will be responsible for their portion of the premium for twelve (12) weeks of coverage and will be billed monthly. If the (12) weeks has passed and the employee has not returned to work, the employee will be responsible for the full monthly premium or offered COBRA coverage if applicable.
If an employee is off on Work Comp leave, the employee will be responsible for their portion of the premium for twelve (12) weeks of coverage and will be billed monthly. If the Work Comp leave extends past 12 weeks the employee will be responsible for the full monthly premium.
The employee’s portion (40%) of the medical and (50%) of the dental premium is deducted pre-tax on a weekly basis. Seasonal employees’ dental premiums are deducted over an eight (8) month period to allow them to keep the dental coverage through the winter at no cost.
